Welcome to Beautiful Mount Washington

Mt. Washington Ski Resort is one of British Columbia's alpine and nordic winter sport resorts and summer alpine desinations. Come to Vancouver Island and escape the crowds and see for your self the spectacular alpine and ocean views! Located 32 km northwest of Courtenay, the 18 km paved road up the mountain is well maintained and easy to drive. With the new Inland Island Highway, travelling time from Nanaimo is about 1 1/2 hrs and about 3 hours from Victoria.

Mt. Washington Alpine Resort enjoys an average snowfall of 9 metres (30 feet), 50 marked runs, snow tubing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing trails and a snowboard terrain park. Mt Washington also offers lift-accessed and night-lit Snow Tubing and a thrilling 300-metre Natural Luge.

In December 2002, Vancouver Island's largest ski hill got even bigger with the addition of the new high-speed 6-seat chairlift called the"Hawk". The Swiss lift is the first of its kind in Western Canada, capable of moving 2,400 riders per hour. 2005 brings us the "Boomerang" - Canada's only dual load & unload quad chairlift, opening up 400 acres of advanced terrain on the north side of the Mountain.

The resort services include the alpine lodge, day lodge, sport shop, rental shop, ski-school, day care, grocery and liquor stores, laundry, bank machines, assorted pubs and restaurants.
